big ridgelines, high alpine singletrack,
The Okanogan-Wenatchee covers 4 million acres of eastern Washington with backcountry mountain bike descents that take years of local knowledge to unlock. TCE has spent that time out here, learning which lines are worth it and how to string them into four days that make sense. Angel’s Staircase. Foggy Dew Ridge. Bryan Butte.
The Best Lines in the Forest, Back to Back
Four days of guided, shuttled riding through some of the most beautiful and remote singletrack in Washington, linked together the way only TCE knows how.
Your Only Job Is to Show Up and Ride
The Okanogan-Wenatchee National Forest was home to the 2021 and 2025 Trans-Cascadia Race. This trip puts you on those same trails, guided, shuttled, and built around the routes that made this place famous.
Okanogan-Wenatchee MTB Itinerary
Arrival + Big Shuttle Day
Meet your guide and crew at the designated trailhead (confirmed pre-trip based on conditions).
We’ll get organized quickly and roll straight into a big shuttle day to shake the legs out and set the tone. Like all Trans-Cascadia Excursions trips, routes are built in real time based on trail conditions, access, and what’s riding best.
The Okanogan-Wenatchee National Forest rides differently than anywhere else we go—more rock, more exposure, and a raw, high-alpine feel. Expect big terrain right out of the gate, including descents that can push 5,000 vertical feet.
Alpine Ridgelines
Morning shuttle to the trailhead, then up into alpine terrain before it’s time to point it down.
This zone is defined by exposure and scale—long ridgeline traverses, big views, and descents that reward patience and good line choice. Your guide will calibrate the day to the group, but expect a full day of riding in high country terrain.
Riders should be fully self-supported with food, hydration, and ride essentials.
Deep Backcountry
Day three goes deeper into the Okanogan-Wenatchee National Forest.
This is terrain that helped define the Trans-Cascadia race—long, exposed traverses and descents that drop from alpine into forested valleys. It feels remote because it is.
Your guide will thread together lines most riders wouldn’t find on their own, building a full day that balances effort, exposure, and reward.
Full Day Finale
One more full day on the bike.
By now the group is moving well, and the terrain makes sense. The guide will build the final day around how the week has unfolded—whether that’s one more big ridgeline push or a tighter, more technical finish.
Expect a complete day of riding and a proper close to four days in the backcountry.
ANGEL'S STAIRCASE
Home to high-alpine epics like Angel’s Staircase, with steep climbs, breathtaking views, and technical descents, and Foggy Dew Ridge, featuring lush meadows and sweeping ridge drops.

CHELAN MOUNTAINS
Home to rugged backcountry rides in the Wenatchee National Forest, with the Chelan Mountains’ south aspect offering alpine descents and the north aspect featuring massive drops from Stormy Mountain to Lake Chelan.

DARK DIVIDE & GOAT MOUNTAIN
Home to legendary day trips in the Gifford Pinchot National Forest, featuring the Dark Divide’s rugged alpine routes, Lewis River Headwaters’ smooth canyon rides, Strawberry's amazing views, Jumbo Peak’s high ridgeline descents, and Juniper Ridge’s wild, fast-flowing traverses.
