1. Booking & Cancellation Policy
Day Trips & Custom Trips
60+ days before departure: 75% refund of total trip cost
31–60 days before departure: 50% refund
30 days or fewer: No refunds
If Trans Cascadia cancels due to weather or acts of nature: store credit will be issued
We recommend purchasing trip insurance to protect your investment. Trans Cascadia is not responsible for non-refundable travel expenses.
Shuttle Rides
60+ days before ride: 75% refund or 100% store credit
31–60 days: 50% refund or 75% store credit
15–30 days: No refund, 50% store credit
2–14 days: No refund, 25% store credit
Less than 48 hours or no-shows: No refunds or credits
If we cancel a ride due to weather or trail conditions, store credit will be issued.
2. Participant Responsibility
All participants must:
Be in suitable physical condition for mountain biking in backcountry terrain
Wear a helmet at all times (mandatory)
Sign a liability waiver prior to participation
Ensure minors are accompanied by an adult or have signed legal guardian consent
Self-Guided Terrain
Unless explicitly stated, our trips and shuttles are not guided. Participants are responsible for:
Navigation
Food and water
Emergency preparedness
Trail awareness and route planning
We strongly recommend downloading offline GPS maps from apps like Trailforks, Gaia GPS, or OnX Backcountry. Cell service is limited or nonexistent in most areas we operate. Riders must be capable of self-navigation and self-support.
3. Weather, Trail Conditions & Closures
Mountain biking involves unpredictable conditions. Trans Cascadia reserves the right to cancel or modify any trip due to:
Wildfires
Snow, ice, or heavy rain
Trail closures or land manager restrictions
Road or access issues
In such cases, store credit will be issued. Refunds are only given when cancellations are not related to acts of nature.
4. Right to Refuse Service
Trans Cascadia Excursions reserves the right to refuse, revoke, or terminate service at our discretion for any of the following reasons, without refund or credit:
Individuals whose behavior makes staff or other customers feel unsafe or uncomfortable
Behavior that endangers self or others
Failure to comply with safety protocols, instructions, or trail etiquette
Evidence of intoxication or drug use
Any conduct deemed unsafe, inappropriate, or harmful to the experience of others
This applies to all participants, including Season Pass holders. Decisions will be made at the sole discretion of staff and may include denial of future bookings or involvement of legal authorities where appropriate.
5. Assumption of Risk & Liability
Participation in outdoor recreation, including mountain biking, involves inherent risks. By booking with us, you acknowledge and accept those risks.
Trans Cascadia Excursions is not liable for:
Injuries
Accidents
Property damage or loss
Unforeseen circumstances arising from natural terrain or personal negligence
You are solely responsible for your own safety, preparedness, and actions during any trip.
6. Website Content Disclaimer
We make every effort to ensure our website content (text, imagery, logos) is original or used with proper permission. If you believe something has been used improperly or violates your copyright, please notify us so we can take prompt action.
7. Governing Law
These Terms & Conditions are governed by the laws of the State of Oregon or Washington, depending on the location of service. Any legal disputes will be handled in the appropriate jurisdiction.
8. Changes to Terms
We reserve the right to update or modify these Terms & Conditions at any time. Continued use of our services confirms your acceptance of the most current version.
