Frequently Asked questions

From shuttle logistics to what to pack for a multi-day in the Cascades, here’s what riders ask us most.

Oakridge Shuttle Questions

Where do I catch the shuttle?

Each shuttle has a different pickup location. Once your shuttle is confirmed, you’ll receive a confirmation email with the exact meet-up spot and details.

Can I add another shuttle?

Of course! If you’re ready for another run, just ask your driver or give us a call—we’ll get you booked on the next available shuttle.

Can I purchase same day?

Yes, you can! If you’re in the area and looking to hop on a shuttle, give us a call. However, same-day bookings are not confirmed until you receive a confirmation email. Please note that just because a shuttle is on the schedule doesn’t guarantee it will run.

Can I pay cash on the shuttle?

We recommend booking ahead of time through XOLA on our website, as it helps us keep everything organized and ensures a smoother experience for everyone. While we can sometimes make exceptions for cash or VENMO payments, it’s best to give us a call in advance so we can sort out the details.

Can I purchase a season shuttle pass?

Yes! We offer Season Shuttle Passes for $499 per person, per season, available under the ‘Oakridge Mountain Bike Shuttles’ page on our website. Passes are valid for any of our Oakridge shuttles running from May 1 to November 1, but please note that blackout dates apply. As a season pass holder, it’s important to understand that our shuttles don’t always go out—we require a minimum of two riders for a shuttle to run.

Do i need to purchase a shuttle pass or can I just show up?

We highly recommend booking in advance! If you show up at a pickup location without a reservation, the shuttle may be full, not running at that time, or reserved for a private group. Sometimes our shuttles don’t go out at all if no one has booked. It’s best to reserve your spot ahead of time or give us a call to check availability for the day.

Once I book, am I guaranteed a shuttle?

No, booking a shuttle online does not guarantee your spot until you receive a confirmation email from us. It can take anywhere from 5 minutes to 1 day for us to confirm or deny a shuttle. If you need an answer sooner, give us a call, and we’ll get you sorted out as quickly as possible.

Do I need to sign a waiver for each shuttle I book?

No, you only need to sign one waiver for yourself, which covers all your shuttles. If you’re booking for a group, you can send the waiver document to each rider in your party to sign. Every rider must have a signed waiver before getting on the shuttle.

Should I tip my driver?

Our drivers love what they do and work hard during our short season. If you had a great experience, tipping is always appreciated! It’s a great way to show your appreciation, and leaving a Google review also helps small businesses like ours grow. Thanks for the support!

Day excursion questions

What is included in a day excursion?

Each trip includes shuttle support and a carefully selected route based on current conditions and rider skill. Professional guiding is available as an optional add-on — perfect if you want extra support, insights on the terrain, or just to fully relax into the ride. Meals and gear are not included.

Can I add a guide to my day trip?

Absolutely. If you’d like one of our experienced local guides to lead the ride, handle the route logistics, and help your crew get the most out of the day, just let us know when you book. It’s a great way to upgrade the experience — especially if you’re unfamiliar with the zone.

What kind of trails will we ride?

Each zone is different, but expect remote singletrack, big vert, and terrain that’s rugged, raw, and rewarding. These aren’t bike park laps — they’re backcountry-style rides with a mix of technical sections, natural flow, and massive views.

How fit do I need to be?

Our trips are geared toward intermediate and advanced riders who are comfortable with 3–5 hours on the bike, some climbing, and descending on mixed terrain. Not sure if it’s the right fit? Reach out and we’ll help you choose the right zone or add a guide.

What should I bring?

Bring your own bike, helmet, hydration, food, tools, and layers for changing mountain conditions. We’ll send a gear checklist with your confirmation so nothing gets missed.

Do you provide food or drinks?

Nope — day excursions are BYO food and hydration. We suggest making sure you bring ample fuel to keep you going and enjoying the day to its fullest.

Can I book a private day trip?

Yes! We offer private day excursions for groups — whether it’s a crew of friends, a team ride, or a special occasion. Let us know what you’re looking for, and we’ll help build something just for you. Check out our private shuttle/trip page here.

Where do we meet?

Meet-up points vary by zone, but we’ll send you detailed info after booking. Common meeting spots include Twisp (Okanogan), Randle (Gifford), and other nearby towns or trailheads.

Do I need to sign a waiver?

Yes — every rider needs to sign a waiver before joining a shuttle or trip. It’s quick and easy, and we’ll send you the link after booking. If you’re booking for a group, make sure everyone signs their own copy before the ride.

What happens if the weather is bad?

Mountain weather can be unpredictable — that’s part of the adventure. We keep a close eye on trail conditions and forecasts, and we’ll reach out if anything’s looking sketchy. Light rain? We’re rolling. But if it’s unsafe or the trails are at risk of damage, we’ll reschedule or work with you to figure out a backup plan.

Is there a cancellation policy?

If you need to cancel, let us know as soon as possible. Here’s how it works:

  • More than 7 days out: Full refund, minus a small processing fee.

  • Less than 7 days: 50% refund.

  • Less than 48 hours or no-show: No refund.

Weather-related changes? If conditions make the ride unsafe or trails are at risk, we’ll reschedule or credit you toward another trip. We do our best to be fair — and we appreciate the same from our riders.

Multi-day Trip questions

What is included in a multi trip?

Each trip includes way more than just shuttles and singletrack. Here’s what’s typically covered:

  • Shuttle support and ride logistics

  • Camping setup (or lodging, depending on your trip)

  • All meals: breakfast, packed trail lunch, post-ride appetizers, and hearty dinners

  • Snacks, electrolytes, and non-alcoholic drinks

  • On-site staff and optional local guides

  • Creek dips, campfires, and the kind of vibe you don’t get from a resort

Optional add-ons include: chef upgrades, sauna setups, media packages, massage therapy, and more. We’ll send you a full list when you book — or help you build a custom setup from the ground up.

Can I join a trip on my own?

Absolutely. You don’t need a full crew to sign up. Many riders book solo or with a couple friends and end up meeting great people on the trip. If the date you want is open, grab a spot — once we hit the minimum rider count, the trip is confirmed.

What’s the difference between scheduled and custom trips?

Scheduled trips have set dates and a planned itinerary — perfect for solo riders or small groups. You join, we handle the rest.

Custom trips are built around you: your zone, your crew, your dates. You choose the style, the trails, the food, the lodging. We’ll make it happen.

What if I have a crew but not a full group for a trip?

Totally fine. As long as there’s space left on a scheduled trip, your group can grab as many spots as you want. If you’re close to filling the whole trip, we can work with you on pricing or converting it into a private booking.

When is a trip officially confirmed to run?

Trips typically need 4–6 riders minimum to go. Once we hit that number, it’s on. If a trip isn’t confirmed yet and you’re interested, sign up — you’ll be helping it get off the ground. If it doesn’t fill, we’ll reschedule or credit you toward another date or a private option.

How many people can join a trip?

Most trips run with 4 to 12 riders, which keeps things tight, supported, and super fun. But we can accommodate larger groups with advanced notice — and the more riders you bring, the lower the per-person cost.

It’s a great setup for friend crews, shop squads, bachelor/bachelorette weekends, or even company retreats. If you’ve got the people, we’ll build the ride.

Private options are available across all our zones — Oakridge, the Okanogan, Gifford, the Willamette, and even Mexico.
